Discover the Revolutionary History of Long Island!
Join us for a presentation on Benjamin Tallmadge and the Tallmadge Trail and learn the story of one of the American Revolution’s heroes. As General George Washington’s chief intelligence officer and leader of the famed Culper Spy Ring, Tallmadge played a vital role in securing American independence.
The presentation will explore Tallmadge’s life and his daring 1780 raid across Long Island, including the capture of a British fort in Mastic and the destruction of a large stockpile of hay in Coram that was destined to feed British cavalry horses.
